poster for peace

This is a design that makes use of a familiar image, applying new meaning through the altered figure and type.  I find the idea to be very creative because it is attention grabbing and memorable. The pictured soldier is in a stance very similar to that of the basketball player in the NBA's logo.  I've always loved basketball and never been much of a fighter, so this design is appealing to me.  One thing this illustrator has done differently with this silhouette  is he used jagged lines to outline the figure.  The NBA logo showcases smooth lines and is very elegant, whereas I get a sense of being on edge in this poster.  This decision obviously speaks to the subject-matter at hand.  The figure appears to have been cut out of a textured element, which is reflected in both the red and blue sides.  The colors in this design, which are true to the original, speak strongly within this poster's message.
