Nuclear Bobmshells - Sophie Mcmahan

This week I wanted to share some of one my best friend's illustrations, as she is undeniably talented and an inspiration to me.  Sophie Mcmahan's work was recently featured at an exhibition at Indigo Gallery in downtown Champaign.  The work posted above was scanned from a comic called Seafaring that Sophie illustrated and conceptualized with her friend, Tiffanie Bui.  These drawings exhibit a wild imagination, creativity, and exceptional skill level.  The woman in the first picture exhibits repetition in her six legs, and in the second, her six breasts.  In the third illustration, I am amazed at how unified the drawing is - so many characters, yet all drawn in the same manner.  Sophie's use of line and shading coupled with her understanding of human expression and emotion make her work very recognizable.
